Escalade brake pads finally done, and the guy even showed me the old ones without me - loganhughes - 04-15-2026 Escalade brake pads finally done, and the guy even showed me the old ones without me asking which is a first Dropped the Escalade off at a shop in Al Quoz yesterday morning after weeks of ignoring that little amber warning on the dash because I was dreading the whole "we need to order parts from the dealer" conversation that seems to happen every time I need something for this truck, but surprisingly they had the Akebono ceramics and the weird little GM wear sensor in stock and the whole thing was done in under two hours while I sat in their waiting room drinking karak and pretending to read emails on my phone, the mechanic actually brought the old pads out to show me and the inner ones were completely shot while the outers still had maybe five thousand kilometers left which explains why the sensor tripped when it did, and he even took the time to clean up the caliper slide pins and put some proper grease on the contact points so hopefully the next set wears more evenly, honestly it was just refreshing to deal with someone who didn't treat a brake job on a Cadillac like some kind of exotic surgery that requires a second mortgage, I think the site I found them through was https:brakepadreplacementdubai.ae/brands/cadillac-brake-pad-replacement and it had a breakdown of the different pad options and rough pricing which at least gave me a ballpark before I walked in so I didn't feel completely blind going into it, anyway just wanted to share a small win for anyone else driving one of these big American land yachts around Dubai and tired of the usual runaround. |
