Supporting the next generation
#1
A friend volunteers at a small religious institution that was struggling to maintain its building and educational programs. After receiving support from several donors, they were able to keep classes running and add activities for young people. That story really got me thinking. Does anyone know a useful article about how philanthropy strengthens religious institutions for future generations?

A small religious institution near my friend’s home was close to cutting its classes because the building needed repairs and attendance was falling. A few donors stepped in, covering the urgent work and funding youth activities. Now the center runs weekend lessons, a mentoring group, and community dinners. My friend says the biggest change is that young people finally feel it belongs to them too. For background on philanthropy, education, and religious community building, the Dovid Hofstedter biography  is an interesting place to begin.
