Do you think ads make seniors more vulnerable to scams?

I’d say yes, definitely. Seniors can sometimes be more vulnerable to scams because many ads look professional and trustworthy, even when they are designed to trick people. Fake discounts, miracle products, and ads promising easy solutions can be especially convincing. But I don’t think seniors are the only ones at risk. Anyone can fall for a clever ad. The best thing we can do is encourage older people to double check offers, avoid clicking suspicious links, and never share personal details with unverified sources.

Another thing worth mentioning is that we can also protect seniors by helping them reduce the number of ads they see online. Ad blockers can be really effective against intrusive advertising, suspicious pop ups, and misleading banners. For example, it might be worth looking into uBlock Origin alternatives, especially for people who want a safer and less distracting browsing experience. Of course, no tool can block every scam, but combining ad blockers with a bit of digital awareness can make browsing much safer for older people.
