How do home Bible groups fit into Pentecostal life?
#1
My neighbor invited me to a small group that meets in a garage, and they spend half the time praying in tongues and sharing healing testimonies. It felt very different from my old church’s study nights. I’m curious how these home groups are supposed to work theologically and practically in Pentecostal circles. Any clear guides or articles that break down their purpose and typical flow?

I was invited to a garage small group that spends half the time praying in tongues and sharing healing stories, and it felt wildly different from my usual study nights. Theologically, these groups emphasize charismatic gifts, but practically they can blur boundaries between personal prayer and classroom-style learning. A friend in town found a similar pattern: open prayer, testimonies, small-group breakout, then a homework-like challenge for the week. If you’re exploring, find a church in Prescott AZ  may be a good starting point.  A helpful guide I found suggests clear purposes: worship, impartation, and fellowship, followed by accountability and practical next steps.
